Hello there! After a number of setbacks and delays, things are getting underway around here. With so much going on, how about we start with a little Q and A.
Question: What’s up with your second album?
Answer: Excellent question. Our second album, La Guitarra is 11/14ths done! The whole thing has actually been recorded for some time, but our producer, Alex Bonnie has been slaving away at the production. We are officially looking at a February,2008 release. Closer to the actual release of the record, we’ll have much more information regarding this. In a nutshell though, the album is a mythological concept album revolving around a troubadour named Fermín Gonzales Lopez, his guitar, and a tree on top of a hill. It’s all quite epic. More on that later.
Question: Who is releasing said album?
Answer: I thought you’d ask that. Well, throughout the years, Bill and I have made some amazing friends that happen to be amazing musicians as well. Many of these artists do not have very much exposure (or just don’t have much exposure in the United States), which is a trajedy. To fix this problem, we have decided to start our own record label so we can choose our own path for the Absinthe Glow and (hopefully) help some other amazing musicians get a little exposure as well.
Question: But, what do you know about the music industry?
Answer: I have two comments here… first of all I don’t even think the music industry knows what is going on these days (which is partially why we didn’t even want to find a label). Secondly, we have partnered with a wonderful human being named Joe Finlaw who has been running Isota Records for the past several years. The releases will all be on Isota Records/Grass-Fed Records.
Question: Grass-Fed Records? Is that the name of the label?
Answer: Yes sir/ma’am. Pretty cool, huh?
Question: Who else will be on the label?
Answer: Well, we have some big plans for this that we’re really excited about. However, we are still ironing out the details with our lawyers at this point so I don’t want to say too much. (That was a joke…sort of).
OK, well, enough of that. As you can see, we have a ton of new things coming up, including this here internets site. – Scott
